Dane A. Dennison, an Associate at John K. Zaid & Associates in Houston, offers injury victims something most associates cannot: more than a decade running his own practice, plus mass tort experience against one of the world’s largest corporations. He has spent his career squaring off with insurance companies and corporate defense teams, and his record shows no reluctance to fight the biggest opponents in the room.
The proving ground came early. Dennison launched his career in 2012 at the Thomas J. Henry law firm, starting in commercial litigation and building extensive experience against insurance carriers. His performance earned him a place on the firm’s Mass Tort team, where he joined the litigation against Johnson & Johnson over the misuse of Risperdal — work that contributed to a favorable settlement for more than one thousand clients. He then returned to southeast Texas and spent over ten years in solo general practice, going head-to-head with corporate lawyers on behalf of everyday clients.
His roots explain his loyalty to working people. Dennison grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, in a richly diverse community that included Vietnam War refugees, and he worked part-time in a foundry while in high school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a pre-law emphasis (and a minor in ceramics) at Lamar University in Beaumont, where he led the Sigma Nu fraternity as president, vice president, and secretary and was active in student government. He began his legal studies at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston in 2007, concentrating on immigration and international law, received his Juris Doctor in 2010, and was licensed to practice in Texas in March 2011.
Life outside the office revolves around the Gulf Coast waters he has loved since childhood. Dennison is working toward his captain’s license, sails with his family, and dreams of one day running a fishing charter company. Family, in fact, is what has steered his career decisions — including his return to southeast Texas to be near his daughter.
Dennison is well suited to injury victims facing a corporate defendant or a stubborn insurer — people who need a lawyer with both the independence of a longtime solo practitioner and the scars of mass tort litigation against a pharmaceutical giant. His firm has recovered billions for clients, offers free consultations, and charges no fee unless it wins.
