Goss took an unconventional road to plaintiff’s work. After earning his B.B.A. from the University of North Texas in 1983, he graduated cum laude and at the top of his 1986 Baylor Law class, where he served as Casenote Editor of the Baylor Law Review. He began at the Dallas office of Andrews & Kurth handling savings-and-loan, securities, and complex commercial disputes, became a partner at Scott, Douglass & Luton in 1992, and co-founded Capshaw, Goss & Bowers in 1994. Once he crossed to the plaintiff’s side, he was appointed class counsel in dozens of nationwide consumer class actions targeting abusive mortgage lending. That work helped push Congress to pass private mortgage insurance legislation that forced the cancellation of hundreds of thousands of PMI policies — saving American homeowners billions. He also won a million-dollar class recovery against a large collection agency for the benefit of the attorneys general of five states.

Today his practice centers on mass torts — dangerous drugs, defective medical devices, and harmful consumer products — alongside catastrophic and fatal accident cases, including 18-wheeler collisions and workplace incidents. His peers have kept score: an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for legal ability and ethics, and selection as a Texas Super Lawyer every year since 2013, an honor limited to roughly 5% of the state’s attorneys.
