Few young Houston injury lawyers arrive with a competition record like Caroline Rains’. Now practicing at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, Rains spent her law school years inside South Texas College of Law Houston’s nationally ranked advocacy program, where she competed — and won — in mock trial, voir dire, and arbitration tournaments around the country. The school recognized her with its Dean’s Outstanding Student Advocate Award and she was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers, the honor society for elite student trial advocates.

Rains earned CALI awards — given for the top grade in a course — in Advanced Trial Advocacy, Expert Witness Testimony, and Writing Seminar, completed the Texas Advocacy Concentration Certification Program with Honors, made the Dean’s Honor List, and joined the Phi Delta Phi legal honors society. After graduating in May 2025, South Texas invited her back as a mock trial coach, and the team she guided advanced to the national ABA competition — a sign of how seriously the advocacy community takes her craft. She got to know Abraham Watkins from the inside, joining the firm as a law clerk during her second year of law school before coming aboard as an attorney.
