Kevin Edwards, co-founder of DFW Injury Lawyers in Dallas, built his plaintiff’s practice on an asset most injury attorneys never acquire: roughly five years spent defending the other side. Early in his career, he worked at a high-volume Dallas civil litigation and insurance defense firm, representing trucking companies, insurers, employers, and corporations across Texas. He watched how insurance companies value claims, delay payouts, and wear down injured people — and in 2008, having seen enough of that approach, he switched sides permanently. For the last 15 years he has represented plaintiffs exclusively, and he brings the defense playbook with him into every negotiation.

Since crossing the aisle, Edwards has represented thousands of injury victims — in car and commercial trucking wrecks, defective product claims, and mass tort litigation against pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. The legal community has taken notice. Super Lawyers designated him a Rising Star from 2013 through 2017, and he has earned the full Super Lawyer designation every year since 2018 — recognition limited to roughly 5 percent of attorneys. A Houston native and graduate of Alief Hastings High School, Edwards attended the University of Texas at Austin on a swimming scholarship, competing on the 1995–96 national championship swimming and diving team — the kind of competitive discipline that still shows in his litigation style. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2003, where he served on the Texas Tech Law Review and as 3L class president. During law school he clerked for a prominent personal injury attorney, gaining early courtroom and trial exposure in car wreck, trucking, medical malpractice, and premises liability suits. He is licensed in Texas state and federal courts and has called the DFW Metroplex home since 2003.
