About Jeff Kuntz
Jeff Kuntz is the kind of lawyer firms bring in when a case is genuinely headed for a jury. With more than two decades of courtroom experience, he has tried numerous jury cases to verdict as lead or co-lead counsel, and his trial work includes high-stakes matters that produced multimillion-dollar verdicts. Having tried cases for both plaintiffs and defendants over his career, he understands exactly how corporate defense teams size up an injury claim — and what it takes to beat them. At Freese & Goss in Dallas, that seasoned trial capability backs a national mass tort and personal injury docket.
Before joining Freese & Goss, Kuntz spent 23 years at a national law firm in Kansas City — and left having set three of that firm’s benchmarks: its largest personal injury verdict, its largest mass tort drug and device verdict, and its largest personal injury settlement outside the mass tort context. His practice covers products liability, mass torts, drug and medical device litigation, environmental and toxic torts, class actions, medical malpractice, and personal injury and wrongful death claims.
His credentials reflect that record. Kuntz is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, where he has served on the Executive Committee of the Western Missouri/Eastern Kansas chapter, and of the International Society of Barristers, an invitation-only organization of trial lawyers. He recently finished two four-year appointments to the Missouri Supreme Court’s Region IV Disciplinary Committee. His honors include Best of the Bar recognition from the Kansas City Business Journal, Super Lawyers selection by Thomson Reuters, the Thomas J. Conway Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the William Welliver Award from the Missouri Bar. He also belongs to the American Association for Justice.
Kuntz earned his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1996 and his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2000, with coursework completed through the London Law Consortium. He is licensed in Kansas and Missouri and admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States as well as the U.S. District Courts for the District of Kansas and the Western and Eastern Districts of Missouri.
Kuntz is the right call for people with catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or drug and device claims serious enough that trial is a real possibility — cases where the defense needs to believe a verdict could actually happen. Note that his bar licenses are in Kansas and Missouri; he works within Freese & Goss’s multi-state litigation practice. The firm offers free consultations, and injury clients pay nothing unless compensation is recovered.
